Objectives
- Encourage delegates to think strategically about future collaboration in the A-J space
- Help delegates to apply the knowledge they have gained in the Dialogue core sessions
- Encourage delegates to work together
The Task
This task is designed to encourage you to identify opportunities for collaboration within the Australia-Japan relationship. We have allocated each of you into a small group with a specific domain area. We would like you to come up with a specific project in your domain area which helps promote stronger Australia-Japan relations and deeper people-to-people linkages.
Please:
1. Put together a brief written outline of your project (1-2 pages). This will be available to the AJYD network, including sponsors, partners, and alumni.
2. Prepare a 10-minute presentation outlining your project. There will also be time for Q&A at the end.
For each of the tasks above, we would like each team to:
- Provide a concise background on your domain area, including any relevant information, case studies, examples, policies, or statistics.
- Create a shortlist of opportunities for collaboration between Australia and Japan within this area.
- Select one particular opportunity for your group to focus on, and identify the most appropriate stakeholder to pitch this idea to (e.g. Australian or Japanese government, non-government organisation, think-tank, institution, or group).
- If possible, please outline any ideas for implementation. What might need to happen first before implementation (e.g. barriers or new funding sources)?
In doing this, we encourage you to take on a multidisciplinary perspective by talking to others in the delegate cohort who may have experience and ideas in your area or similar areas.
