About Jake Sturmer

Jake Sturmer is the ABC's North Asia Correspondent based in Tokyo. He is in charge of the office and reports from across Japan and the wider region. His work features across the ABC’s TV, online and radio platforms, and he has filed for the flagship investigative program Four Corners and the nightly current affairs show 7.30. The ABC is the only Australian media outlet that has a permanent bureau based in Japan. As a video journalist, he shoots and edits his own stories. Prior to taking up this position he was a national reporter based in Sydney, covering environment, science and technology across all of the ABC's networks. Jake has won several journalism awards, including the Walkley Award for Young Australian Journalist of the Year.
