2021 Essay Contest (Entries now closed)

The Australia-Japan Youth Dialogue is inviting student essays on the question:

“What issue matters the most to you as a future leader in Australia or Japan?”

Submissions should identify an issue, explain why it is important to the future of the Australia-Japan relationship, and make a case for what should be done going forward.

The authors of the winning submissions will have their work published on the AJYD website and social media channels. Winners will also be invited to present their paper at the upcoming Dialogue and to participate in panels and workshops alongside delegates. This is a unique opportunity to learn from and engage with renowned experts and future leaders in the Australia-Japan relationship.

This year's Dialogue will feature a mixture of in-person and online events in Australia and Japan spanning the month of November. Any travel expenses will be covered by the AJYD. For more information about our 2021 Dialogue and past Dialogues, please click here.
