About Raymart Walker

Raymart is a Higher Education professional working as the International Liaison Officer at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC), where he oversees the University's short-term outbound student mobility programs and coordinates the University's engagement with the Australian Government's New Colombo Plan program. He has a breadth of experience in strategic governance, communications, risk management, and project administration within the University sector, serving on boards, committees, and championing projects over several years where he contributed to strategy, acquisitions, significant capital projects, and policy development.

Raymart is a 2017 alumnus of the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarship program where he spent over 16 months in Japan, studying at Hokkaido University and Akita International University, and undertook internships in the Education section of the Australian Embassy (Tokyo) and at the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ). From his experiences engaging with various sectors in Japan, Raymart is a strong advocate for the Australia-Japan relationship and is passionate about further deepening the relationship through his involvement in the Australia-Japan Youth Dialogue.

Raymart has attended various international leadership and diplomacy summits, including the University Scholars Leadership Symposium at the United Nations and the ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting (AFMAM), both in Bangkok, Thailand.

Raymart is a passionate youth advocate, empowering young people and student leaders from diverse backgrounds on the Sunshine Coast to use their education as a platform to better themselves in the service of others and to deliver positive change in their community.

Raymart holds a Bachelor of International Studies (International Relations and Japanese) and a Bachelor of Science from USC. At his graduation, he received the highest honour available to a graduating student -- a Chancellor's Medal -- in recognition of his academic achievement and significant impact on the community.
